Kim Cattrall had a few demands before agreeing to reprise her iconic role of Samantha Jones on And Just Like That, one of them being that famed SATC costume designer Patricia Field had to return with her. While dropping by The View to promote her new Netflix series Glamorous, Cattrall shared exactly what it took to reprise her beloved Sex and the City character after years of rumored bad blood between her and the other women.

“It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, ‘What can we do?’” Cattrall said. “I went, Hmmmm…” In that phone call with Max CEO Casey Bloys, Cattrall said that one of the main items on her list was getting famed Sex and the City costume designer Patricia Field back in the fold for And Just Like That. “One of those things was to get Pat Field back," she said. "I just thought, ‘If I’m gonna come back, I’ve gotta come back with that Samantha style. I’ve got to push it. And we did!”

While Field and Cattrall have both exited the SATC universe, their creative partnership has continued as Field dressed Cattrall—and only Cattrall—for Glamorous. “She was so busy, she was only doing me,” Cattrall reported. “We would come with Nancy Gould, who was the costume designer for the show, and we would come and we’d go shopping.” When asked why Cattrall loves working with Field, she spoke to their decades long working relationship which began on Sex and the City. ”You know, she knows my body so well,"  Cattrall said. “We've spent a lot of time together—with me clothed and unclothed.”

The View co-host Joy Behar pointed to Cattrall's speech at Variety's “Power of Women” event where Cattrall shared that her secret to success is learning to say no.  “At this point in my life where I want to spend the time and with whom is very important to me, and what I want to say with the characters that I play” said Cattrall. “I've learned through the years to sort of take a step back and see myself doing something and really register how that feels.” Thank goodness she still feels Samantha Jones is worth her while.
