As Taylor Swift knows, haters gonna hate (hate, hate, hate, hate), and Travis Kelce, as a (football) player, did what he does best as well: play, play, play, play.

On the latest episode of Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with older brother Jason Kelce, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, published Wednesday, Travis focused on the cheers, not the jeers, that Swift received from her VIP box vantage point at Sunday’s Chiefs-Patriots game.

“They showed Taylor at the game,” Travis said. “You don’t see an entire home team fan base go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team’s colors.”

“Just shows you how amazing that girl is,” he said of the fan reaction at Gillette Stadium, the home field of the New England Patriots. “They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen.”

As for the ones who had a less positive reaction to seeing the singer on the Jumbotron?

“There might have been a few Brads and Chads that were booing,” he said, referencing Swift’s previous comments about “dads, Brads, and Chads” who object to seeing her during NFL games, “but for the most part, everybody was fucking screaming their tail off for her.”

For her part, Swift, too, ignored any boos she heard Sunday. After all, she had birthday cake to share, and her dad to hang out with.

Scott Swift was on hand with Taylor at the game, and was spotted sharing birthday cake with fans in adjacent suites, as the game was just days after his daughter’s 34th birthday. The brothers, on their podcast, praised what Travis referred to as Scott Swift’s “swaggy vintage joint” and “full Chiefs gear.”

“It looks good on him,” Jason said, but couldn’t resist a wink at Scott’s usual on-record devotion to his own team, the Eagles. “I think his complexion really suits green more, if I don’t say so myself…It’s the wrong team, but it’s a nice sweater.”

Travis has spent some quality time with the man he respectfully refers to as “Mr. Swift,” notably leaving him hanging for a high-five in Argentina when Taylor swapped lyrics in her song “Karma” onstage to refer to “the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me” (that’s Travis, FYI).

For his part, Travis said that he was “trying to keep it cool” Sunday when fans cheered for his boo, though he was moved by the support.

“It was fun, man,” he said. “Taylor’s on record saying that stadium [Gillette] was one of the funnest that she’s played at. So for them to show her is just kind of showing her some love, so shout-out to the Patriots for doing that.”

Travis Kelce is set to play on Christmas Day, in a face-off against the Las Vegas Raiders in his home stadium in Kansas City. An unnamed source told Page Six that Swift will spend Christmas and New Year’s in Kansas City and will be at Kelce’s games on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

A representative for Taylor Swift did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
